Johnny spreads his arms wide and looks expectantly at V.
“No, no. That can’t be it,” V mumbles, “There has to be another way.”--
Fix-it fic. What if there was a way to save both V and Johnny?
A sort of sequel to my previous work in this series, though it can be read as a standalone.October 2023 update: This story has been slightly revised regarding phrasing and readability. There are no changes to the actual story. However, I might add another part to it in the future.

The demon finally spoke with a voice that would have surely shaken Yuji's core if he wasn’t already so annoyed by the snow that came without warning. The weatherman on the news never mentioned the slightest chance of snowfall. It was already bad enough he’d been wandering the woods on his own, but to become lost while the sky dusted the ground in a blanket of white had only made him wish he would have just stayed home.
And now he was in the presence of a demon. A very pissed-off demon, who looked none too pleased with the person before him.
“I, uh…” A bead of sweat rolled down Yuji’s neck. Domain? Did the demon mean the estate? “Walked, well stumbled, actually, and found… it?”
❤ Yuji and Sukuna meet earlier in the timeline. A lot earlier.

Dante saved a wounded man named Vergil while he was out on a delivery, but he didn't think much of it. He always helped someone in need. But Dante learned quickly that maybe he was at the wrong place, wrong time, when Vergil came back to repay him. And he wouldn't take no for an answer from Dante.

When it does happen, however, Vergil can find him lying facedown on the cold bathroom tiles or some extension of their house's floor – or, conversely, a comfortable mattress, on whomever's bed, it doesn’t matter; why not, even on the surface of a table. My back hurts, he will lament sometimes. My everything feels sore, these cramps are hell, Verge, can you do anything about it?
That’s still not research that has evolved past detached, interested observation. Soon, the scholarly Vergil will have to realise there are much more entertaining ways to study the brother’s biological functions; field researches.
