For a brief moment, Dori fixed his gaze on Seungmin with his large green eyes before returning to all fours to stretch. Nestled down on Seungmin's left side and the boy remained completely still, not wanting to disturb his peaceful rest.
Minho's hand gently settled in Seungmin's blonde hair, mimicking the slow strokes he had been giving the cat's fur moments before. “Purr for me,” Minho suddenly said with his eyes still closed.

I close my eyes to fully enjoy the moment. The warmth spreading from his body, his familiar scent, the peacefulness he’s able to convey even by keeping quiet, the safety I feel by being held between his arms. This is Chan. My rock, my guiding light, the love of my life. I couldn’t ask for anything better.
I want this moment to be engraved in my mind, so that I can turn back to it whenever I need it, whenever Chan isn’t with me.

Of course Ilya wasn't going to choose him.
And now, he stood in their kitchen like a stranger, having to pretend be okay with the fact that Ilya went out and hooked up with Svetlana on a night meant to celebrate hockey's greatest. A party he wasn't even invited to as a captain himself.
What a fucking joke.
He spent the entire day coming up with meticulous loopholes and justifications for something that was actually quite simple—nobody remembered. Shane was wholeheartedly forgotten and he was too proud, or maybe dense, to figure it out himself.

He can’t say that. He can’t ruin everything. He can’t dim the shine in Ilya’s eyes, the bounce in his step, the color in his cheeks he didn’t have the last few years.
Ilya sacrificed hockey for their relationship for two years, played on a crappy team and watched Shane win. It’s Shane’s turn to sacrifice, to figure out how to make this work and let Ilya lead this time.
