After one too many weeks of staying up late, Soundwave finds himself getting worse with each passing day. Despite his impaired processor, the cassette player keeps pushing—right up until he crashes in front of Starscream. Great.
This brings back unpleasant memories. Ones he’s been trying to suppress for a long time. Fantastic.

Summary
When an escape pod lands on earth, Megatron is hoping for a lost warrior- instead, the Decepticons unearth a stasis locked sparkling from before the war, and it quickly becomes Soundwave's responsibility. Needing someone in his corner against the Elite Seekers and Megatron's disinterest in keeping the sparkling alive, he turns to his fellow officer Shockwave for support, finding out more things about this mystery child along the way...
Or, Soundwave and Shockwave coparent amid a war, though not without many challenges.

Maybe meeting, and pursuing Soundwave had unlocked deep, encrypted coding he came online with that had laid inert until his circumstances had been ideal. Untouched, but there; gnawing at the edges of his thoughts, sleeping in his emotional circuits as they waited for the key.
The closest thing to instinct they had.
He tapped the back of Soundwaves helm. “Do you feel what you have done to me?”
Soundwave purred, low and deep. “Affirmative.”
