Summary
“Well?” Steve, the same Steve as before, asks. “What do you think?”
The hand in Bucky’s hair slides down the side of his neck and along the slope of his shoulder, following a natural path down his left arm. Shuri’s tech is a blessing and a curse; even through the metal, Bucky’s excruciatingly aware of the warmth and pressure of Steve’s touch—another Steve, this one, not his, except they’re all his in a way but especially today, in this room.
Steve’s fingers briefly clasp Bucky’s shackled wrist before coming to rest on the small of his back.
A hand traces the tight stretch of his lips around the gag, and yet another strokes gentle knuckles along the swell of his cheeks, idly brushing the edges of the blindfold. Four heartbeats, all around Bucky.
“Pretty,” says a voice that’s too far away to be any of the Steves touching Bucky. “Could just eat him up.”

He waits until Bucky’s got a happy mouthful of eggs and toast.
“I want to fuck you when you’re asleep.”
Bucky has too much control over himself to spit out his food, no matter how startled, and he’s too well mannered thanks to Winnifred Barnes’ loving supervision to talk with his mouth full, both of which were what Steve was banking on. Plus, it’s fascinating to watch Bucky’s eyes bug out and then narrow. No other man can chew so slowly while radiating not-necessarily-friendly intent.
Steve smiles his sweetest smile, and Bucky’s eyes narrow further, until they’re luminous blue slits.
He swallows.
Steve helplessly tracks the bob of his throat and drags his eyes back up to Bucky’s.
“Steven Grant,” Bucky says, tone somewhere between amusement and admonishment. “Way to spring that on a guy.”
“I’m communicating!”
“You’re an asshole is what you are.”

“Alien…aphrodisiac.” James blinks and takes a few deep breaths, absorbing the information to scratch his head over later. Steve’s the priority now. “At least tell me he didn’t leap into the path of the alien whatever.”
The Widow laughs. It’s half for show, James knows, but he thinks he can see genuine amusement in her cool green eyes. Steve’s better at reading her, but Steve’s apparently busy rubbing one out in the bathroom.
“Not this time,” she says. “It’s not a weapon. One of the scientists grabbed the first thing they could in a panic. Steve was the only one in the room with them and got a faceful of blue dust. The effects took a couple of hours to show.”
“And the scientist who used it?”
“Was trying to fuck a wall, last I saw.”
James grimaces.
“It’s not very dignified,” the Widow adds, noting his expression. “Like I said, either the serum’s handling the worst of it or Steve’s real superpower is his moral compass.”

Summary
He cuts an impressive figure, built like a monster truck and old enough to be Bucky’s father, with silver hair and beard, wrinkles at the corner of his eyes, and a face that could be genial but might as well be made of marble as he peers down at Bucky.
“Agent Barnes,” the man says, voice deep and rumbling. “It’s good to finally meet you.”
There’s so much drama in that one line that Bucky can’t hold back a smile.
“Of course it is,” he says lightly. “I’m a hot commodity these days.”
It’s not flirting, because Bucky doesn’t flirt with men who plan to rip out his fingernails or beat his ribs in or whatever the fuck these villain types do these days. It’s been a while since he got caught, and well, it’s easier to grin and banter than to ponder over his fate. The man just blinks and, in a move unexpected enough to raise the hairs on Bucky’s nape, runs his cool blue eyes down the length of Bucky’s body, clad only in a compression shirt and boxer-briefs that leave nothing to the imagination.
“I can see that,” he says. “Only thing you got going for you, isn’t it?”
