Darry’s only reply is another dry heave that shakes his entire body. “Darry how long you been in here,” Soda whispers as he crouches down next to him, a comforting hand between his shoulder blades. It seems like a decade has passed before Darry finally gets a break from throwing up, leaning against the bathtub.
“I don’t know, been here since one,” Darry says in a low voice sounding like he’s been gargling gravel for the whole twenty years of his life.
