Summary
Taka and Owada are fighting again.
This is sadly not an uncommon occurrence at their prestigious high school, Hope’s Peak Academy. In fact, it’s so common that everyone in the vicinity immediately begins evacuating, knowing that when Taka and Owada begin to fight, nothing and no one gets spared. Neither of them means to get so out of control— Taka especially— but it’s like whenever they see the other, their minds just go blank and abject rage takes over all of their sensibilities. Taka knows this to be the case for him, and he highly suspects this to be the case for Owada, too. The deep rage he can see housed inside those bright, lavender eyes showcases that.
Their battles happen frequently and intensely, every single one leaving Taka with a righteousness burning inside of him that nothing else replicates. There is no one and nothing Taka knows of that drives him to the same extremes that Owada does. No one that gets under his skin, that makes his blood boil so intensely. Taka always walks away from every battle invigorated in the strangest way; his body alive in a way it never is with anyone else.
It’s an addictive feeling.

It’s his fifth year and Taka is determined to master the Patronus charm, knowing that there is nothing that hard work and effort cannot get him. No, he doesn’t really have any happy memories to recall while casting the charm, but surely that cannot be the only way to produce the charm, can it?
After hours of fruitless studying, his wand refusing to produce even the slightest hint of a wisp, Taka is starting to wonder if he’ll ever get the charm right.
Perhaps the brash Gryffindor Mondo Owada’s offer to assist him in learning the charm will actually help, despite their less than stellar history together… if only Taka could forget their unfortunate interaction the previous year, that is.

Mike was sprawled on the carpet with Dustin and Lucas, waving his arms around dramatically as he argued about which Star Wars film was objectively the best. His hair was a mess. His cheeks were flushed. He was smiling.
And Will felt that stupid expanding warmth in his chest that he couldn’t get rid of no matter how hard he tried.
