Summary
During his rookie year, Shane goes to a Halloween party at a Montreal gay bar to confirm some suspicions about himself. Unfortunately, it’s 2010, so the official photographer uploads a few hundred photos to the bar’s Facebook page.
Yuna gives real thought to finding Mark Zuckerberg and strangling him with his own hoodie strings. Probably this particular thought spiral suggests it’s time for her to step away from the PC, but the thought of taking a break – of leaving the burning fuse that could blow up her baby’s life at any moment unattended – makes her stomach churn.

Summary
Shane wants to figure out if he's gay before he gets drafted—and no, the way he felt when Ilya Rozanov smirked at him with a cigarette between his lips in Saskatchewan has nothing to do with it. Unfortunately, the random guy he hooks up with to try and make sure one way or another takes a picture, and Shane gets outed before the draft. In the ensuing scandal, he goes seventh overall, to Ottawa.
It turns out, having the worst thing you can think of happen to you when you're seventeen years old can end up being pretty liberating. And land you an unexpected best friend.

A little further down the beach, they found a rocky landscape that dipped into bright-blue pools illuminated by the sun. Newt pumped his fist high into the air, a little grunt of excitement as he angled them towards the hazardous terrain. There was a spot that was a little flatter and Hermann leaned against it while Newt sat his bag down and started crouching over the pools.
“Oh!” Newt dropped himself flat against the jagged stones, his hands gripping the sides before he scooped one into the water and carefully pulled up a little scuttling crab in a slightly opalescent shell. “I told you!” He laughed openly, easily, letting the little critter scurry over his open palm and back into the water. “Oh, shit, Herms, that’s a starfish! And, look, look! Little bit of algae growth here, holy shit, I need that sample jar right there. No, that one. Yes, that one.”

His tray went flying, and he hit the ground hard, and though Hermann was sure nothing had been broken by the fall, he still fought back a grimace in sympathy at the loud thud that echoed through the mess hall.
