Summary
It all started with Atsumu’s understandable—yet tragically obvious—crush on none other than Sakusa Kiyoomi.
Not that Atsumu meant to make it obvious.
He liked to think he was subtle… smooth… casually magnetic.
But when he found himself hyper-focusing on every word that dripped from Sakusa’s tongue—no matter how venomous—tripping over his own feet during blocking drills just to watch him serve, and freezing like a loading screen every time Sakusa so much as glanced in his direction… well, maybe he wasn’t as subtle as he thought.
Especially not when half the team had stopped pretending not to notice.
-
Or, when Atsumu's teammates created a ‘Miya’s Missed Shots’ board after his first spectacular flirting failure — and Atsumu’s attempts to win Sakusa’s heart only got more… creative from there.

Summary
“What the hell is this?” Sakusa snapped as the man held out his hand to him. “Where’s Miya-”
“He retired a month ago, and left it to me to take over. I’m his son, Atsumu, it’s nice to meet ya.” He kept his hand out to Sakusa with a mischievous grin, and he made no move to shake it. So this was his son. He’d heard countless stories of the man’s twin sons, and especially about one named Atsumu.
~~~~~~
Sakusa arrives to meet his usual barber only to find his son, Atsumu, instead. Although he vows to never step foot in that place, much less see that man again, for one reason or another, he keeps coming back to him.
Summary
“So, what brings ya into town?”
“Two things,” Kiyoomi says, pausing to take a long sip from his own coffee. He meets Atsumu’s gaze then, holding it as he asks, “Are you single?”
“I - uh, y’know - ” Atsumu sputters for a moment, ready to fall out of his chair and hopefully wake up on impact, because there is no way that this conversation is happening. “Are you hitting on me right now?”
“If you want to call it that,” he says with a small shrug. He’s still making the kind of eye contact that might just destroy Atsumu, going on, “That’s one of my two big goals.”
“Whaddya mean?” he asks.
“I’m going to win you back.”or, Atsumu and Kiyoomi were high school sweethearts, until Kiyoomi broke it off and disappeared for four years.
