There was something so magnetic about Shane after a hockey match. Brown eyes bright, maybe a little cocky. Dark hair plastered to his forehead and flat from his helmet. Skin ruddy and glistening with sweat. And god, how he smelt. Salty and hot and masculine. Shane at the end of a hockey game was a fucking wet dream. Not only because he was the prettiest sweaty man Ilya had ever seen but because he was usually thrumming with confidence, especially after a win against the Boston Raiders. Every time they stood in the handshake line at the end of a match Ilya wanted to crush their mouths together and suck the sweat off his top lip.

Summary
Upon finishing his bachelor's degree at BU, Shane Hollander's worst nightmare is returning home to the family farm for a summer. He'd been successful in not coming home last summer thanks to an internship, but he couldn't get out of it now. He was meant to start a job near home in a few months, but had wanted to take the summer to relax and maybe travel before starting a life in corporate.
Ilya Rozanov loves his job. His boss was kind, providing a small cottage on the property to keep him close in case of any emergencies. He got to bring his dog, Anya, on any work-related adventure. He was almost a year into his position and was sure that he never wanted to leave. He would do anything the Hollander family asked, from pulling a calf at 4 AM to plowing the 60 acres of farmland all by himself.
Well, Ilya loved his job until he met the Hollander's son, an arrogant, pretentious city boy who is infuriatingly handsome, annoying, and hellbent on having Ilya at his beck and call this summer.

The airport looks like it always does. A sea of people oblivious to anything going on around them. Ilya is about to put his headphones over his ears when he sees something so familiar his brain almost doesn't register it. That is until he realizes that he's in fucking Moscow so this doesn't make any sense.
Because right there at the gate, spread out over several chairs, his duffle bag as a pillow, is the figure of Shane Hollander sleeping. The hood of his sweatshirt is up and he's wearing sunglasses, but Ilya would recognize the shape of Shane Hollander anywhere.
“Hollander?” he asks in shock, stepping closer.
Or, Shane shows up in Russia after learning Ilya's father died. Ilya did not ask him to do this. He just showed up. And now Ilya doesn't know what to do with himself. He proceeds to just go with it, and maybe listen to Shane for once.
Another song inspired fic, this time Ever the Same by Rob Thomas which I argue is underrated.

After all, Roz gets extremely mad whenever it’s brought up. Not that Cliff can blame him, he’s pretty sure that Roz liked Hollander before this (wouldn’t chirp him half as much if he didn’t). Finding out that he’s such a bastard must sting.
Not to mention that Roz does not mess around with people that disrespect girls. Or women. Or kids. Or dogs. Or the elderly (excluding Scott Hunter). Or really anyone, if it’s for petty stupid reasons.
“Of course,” Cliff agrees for both of them since Roz is still too busy texting someone.
It’s apparently not good enough for LeClaire because he asks, “Roz?”
“Just one second,” he answers without raising his eyes from his phone or stopping his typing. “Need to get my Jane to agree with something. She’s very stubborn.”
Or. My take on the 'their text leak and now everybody thinks that Shane is an abusive bastard' premise. Featuring Ilya giving a presser, Marly realizing in real time who 'Jane' is and the internet reacting to the craziness.
