Summary
Soobin crawled into his nest, carrying the bag with him. Methodically, he pulled out the new clothes and began arranging them among everything else. Clothes were tucked into the footboard and under the pillows at the head of the bed. Though it was hard not to tell that the scent of alpha was by far the most prominent. The realization alone had him blushing. He looked over at the other two as he finished. He found himself settling on his knees with his hands folded in his lap. He couldn’t help himself as he asked, “Do you like it?”
“Of course,” Beomgyu said at the same time Yeonjun blurted, “Yeah.”
Soobin hated the way he preened slightly after gaining their approval. “Do you guys want to come sit?”
Beomgyu started to bound over, but Yeonjun held him by the shoulder. “Are we allowed to?”
Soobin blinked rapidly. “I don’t actually know. I’ve never had an alpha in my nest before.”
Admitting it was embarrassing. But they didn’t look appalled or even shocked. They wore soft smiles, bright and open. “We’re honored then,” Beomgyu said as they reached the bed.

“Now it’s your turn to say something nice about me,” Beomgyu said, fiddling with his shot glass as Soobin’s laughter began to die down.
Soobin inhaled shakily, his eyes darting away from Beomgyu’s face. “I don’t know what to say.”
“You could always start with how handsome I am,” Beomgyu teased. He didn’t actually expect Soobin to praise him. He’d just always enjoyed riling people up.
“I think,” Soobin hummed like he was deep in thought, a flash of something mischievous in his eyes. “I think you want me to say you’re handsome because you’re afraid I’m more handsome than you.”
Beomgyu’s mouth dropped open in shock as Soobin burst into a fit of giggles.

Summary
In reality it took all of three seconds, a regular interval for deciding something, for Yeonjun to sit down. When Soobin plays it back, the memory lengthens until he’s able to decode every passing emotion on Yeonjun’s face. He’s unreliable, seeing things he wants to see, but he swears there’s just something there that looks achingly similar to how he feels.

Summary
Soobin's life has changed abruptly when his parents died in an anomaly attack. He’s forced to leave his old city with his older brother Yeonjun and now they have to adjust to the countryside and live with their grandparents on a big farm.
Even with the fear of losing it all again because nobody knows when those monsters can attack and with the low numbers of sentinels in their new village, Soobin is happy in his new home. He has his brother, his grandparents and he has Huening Kai here.
Everyone says that he’ll end up marrying Kai, that they will be soulmates and if at first that sounded ridiculous, as he grew up Soobin couldn’t help but hope for this future.
Except there’s a small problem: Huening Kai doesn’t love him back, not in the same way. Yet Soobin can wait for him.

soobin feels the cold rainwater seeping into the back of his shirt, reaching a trembling hand to dig nails into yeonjun's kneecaps, raw and scraped open. it’s hard to get a grip, skin slick and wet as he tries to pry yeonjun away from his body.
for a brief moment, he turns his head to the side to breathe, shakes when yeonjun’s fist lands in his ribs this time. the neon crimsons and jades of nightlife lights run and blend like watercolor on the ground.
the long gash in his left side throbs, scabbed over in the time since the last match. he’s always been faster on his feet than yeonjun though, so soobin knocks a fist into his right jaw, twisting his abdomen to slip out from yeonjun’s weight.
the wound rips open and knocks the wind out of him, but it’s enough time to scramble up and away from yeonjun. soobin’s blood is on yeonjun’s hands.
