Rushing up the stairs he entered the house as quietly as he could, shutting the door behind him as he looked around, wallpaper peeling from the top of the walls and yellowed tile covered the floors, the house was silent but that was usual, but Mason had been out longer than he was meant too, meaning his Mam should be furious and have heard him come through the door. He was already picturing her stalking towards him with fury in her eyes and screaming at him for being late and wasting precious time.
But there was nothing.
No angry footsteps, no yelling, no creak of the floorboards, not even any pipes settling, it was just an eerie silence that filled the house.
He made his way deeper in and couldn’t help but call out, “Mam?”
Silence answered him and he gulped, slowly making his way through every room before he made it to the stairs, there was a slash through the wallpaper above the railing going up, surrounded by shredded wallpaper.

Boston and Montreal are sent to Paris to play against each other in an exhibition series in January 2017. Ilya and Shane decide to stay in Paris for one more night. Just one more night, so they can talk. Maybe finally understand each other.
