“Did —” Daeron couldn’t believe it, his mouth twitching for a surprised smile. “You tampered with the lottery?”
“Would that upset you?” Valarr’s eyes were firm. “If I did?”
“Did you?”Every year there are Seven Courting balls to join together all the eligible omegas and alphas from the Realm. It is said, if you are paired with the same partner seven times then you were fated together by the Gods.

"This castle is occupied by a dragon." Ser Duncan kept his voice steady — calm was what a hostage needed, calm and certainty. "It is dangerous. You are in immediate peril."
"Am I?"
"Yes." He drew himself up. "But you need not fear. I am of the Order. I have taken the Oath. I will deal with the creature."
"Will you?"
"Yes. You are safe now." He fixed Aerion with his most reassuring look. "Stay behind me."
Ser Duncan, a sworn paladin of the Order of the Silver Shield arrives to slay a dragon. He finds a castle, and a man named Aerion.

The day before his older brother dies, Aerion arrives at breakfast to see Daeron still passed out at the table, unmoved from the night prior. He takes his abandoned, half-finished cup of wine and pours it over Daeron’s greasy head, and he sputters awake.
Through the wine dripping from his rancid mouth, the cretin says, “The hedge knight would have loved you if you hadn’t broken that girl’s fingers,” and it takes Aerion a moment to realize who Daeron speaks of. “He always loves you. It’s really quite spectacular you’ve managed to dissuade him.”

It made sense that Robert associated touch with something bad and given the way he made comments about his father being the ‘tough love’ type, Flambae was starting to doubt that much of the touch Robert received had ever been positive. How many times had someone laid their hands on Robert and didn’t mean him harm?

Robert is scared of being touched. Flambae tries to make it a little less scary.
