Summary
He was a beta. He was normal. Barely any scent, no cycles, no mating instincts. Just plain old normal.
At least, that’s what he thought.
He thought he was normal.
But instead, Dazai is currently curled up on his single mattress in the shipping container that he calls home as he sweats profusely and struggles through cramps, pains, and the desire to nest. His mattress has a single thin blanket, which apparently does not satisfy the omega instincts trying to claw their way out of his mind. He was so close, too; days away from his 17th birthday, the birthday that would have officially made him a beta.
Hope is a killer disease.

Summary
What Dazai did with his time didn’t bother Chuuya. Sure, he felt a certain… protectiveness over Dazai. Afterall, Dazai had only been seventeen when they met, young and impressionable; he hardly knew what he was in for. It was only natural, he remained, to feel a certain amount of responsibility for him.
If Dazai wanted to whore himself like a blood slut, that was his business. Chuuya couldn’t care less if Dazai spent his nights on his knees, or in some other bloodsucker’s expensive sheets, or getting his brains sucked out by someone who wasn’t Chuuya. Nevermind that Chuuya was there first, or that Dazai had the most divine blood the redhead had ever tasted. Or that Dazai had left a lingering, taunting impression of himself in Chuuya’s apartment, or that sometimes, most times, Chuuya would close his eyes and pretend whatever neck he was sucking on was pale and scarred, or whatever whore he was fucking had brown hair and deeper brown eyes. And nevermind that he was never truly satisfied when he fell back asleep, quietly, secretly longing for that taste on his tongue again.
Chuuya wasn’t bothered in the least.

Summary
Chuuya had done this before after missions, after fights, after Dazai came home pretending he wasn’t sore. He always pretended he didn’t like it, which was a lie. Now Dazai didn’t pretend at all.
He made a sound so soft it almost didn’t exist—bordering on a whimper. Chuuya’s hands moved down, kneading along the muscles beside Dazai’s spine. Every time Chuuya hit a knot, Dazai let out little whine, half pain, half relief.
“Stop making noises like that,” Chuuya muttered.
“I can’t help it,” Dazai whined.
“Yes you can.”
“No,” Dazai insisted, voice wobbling. “It hurts and it feels good and I’m sick.”
Dazai doesn’t ask for help when he’s sick like a normal person. He whines, he clings, he complains like it’s his job—and he feels awful enough that even Chuuya can’t pretend it’s just annoying.
or: Chuuya acts exasperated. Dazai acts dramatic. They both know Chuuya will baby the fuck out of him anyway.

Summary
Getting out of prison alive was a miracle. Getting stuck with Dazai on his couch is just Chuuya's terrible luck.
In the grueling aftermath of the vampire outbreak, a highly inconvenient shift in alliances forces them under the same roof. Exhausted and stripped of their usual defenses, the quiet hours they share start to blur lines they’ve fiercely guarded since they were teenagers.
Or: The post-war domestic fic where the tension boils over, and Chuuya finally stops lying to himself.

Summary
It's an accident, for once. He was actually following the Official Household Chore Schedule and doing the dishes while Chuuya was out getting groceries. But one of the plates was slipperier than he expected, and as he attempted to dry it, it fumbled just enough out of his grip to crack against the countertop, chipping a bit off the edge.
It isn’t one of Chuuya’s fancy plates. Dazai is fairly certain that Chuuya has no particular attachment to this dish at all, actually. It’s plain white and utilitarian, part of a larger set.
So Dazai can’t explain why he’s frozen in place, rooted to the floor by some welling emotion he can’t quite pinpoint.
(Alternatively: local brilliant strategist has a slight meltdown over small uncontrollable part of everyday life)
