If Hob listened carefully, beneath the gentle din of the fairies around him, he could still yet hear the hum of magic, unspent beneath his feet. The soft, loamy soil sank beneath his weight. The grass hummed gently with every step he took. A song from the planet itself, it seemed, carrying him and those upon her surface with a merry melody. He tried to will the magic into his body. Perhaps the song of the world would give him the courage he had found he sorely lacked.
As expected of all things fairy, the music only teased and flitted about him.
No straight answers.
No easy road.

Binx, Andhera has always thought, is not entirely at ease in the darkness. She thrives in dimness, to be sure, the cozy in-between spaces where the light just barely brushes, where your eyes must adjust, and then you see. They are accustomed to roaring fires throwing gentle shadows over the walls, the relative privacy of a nook lit by a dusty, half-dead reading lamp, or the little hook of space beneath an umbrella on a grey and cloudy day. Binx is comfortable in semi-darkness, but she cultivates light. It is, Andhera thinks, one of their most admirable qualities.

Sukuna’s first memory is of Yuuji. They are in the garden, with their mother, and Sukuna remembers the warmth of spring air, a ladybug crawling across Yuuji’s nose, as he sits, eyes crossed, trying to watch it.
He’s Sukuna’s, for all his faults.
And Sukuna is his, even if he hasn’t ever seemed to pick up on this.
Every milestone in their lives are theirs, together. They take their first steps together, have their first day of school together, lose their parents together, have their first fight together, break their first bones together (due to Yuuji, Sukuna is still sore about that one). Everything they do, they do together first.
They present in middle school in the same week. That Yuuji presents as Alpha surprises no one, least of all Sukuna. That Sukuna presents as Omega? There is nearly uniform shock. But, of course he did; they are a natural pair.
