Summary
It was only meant to be a polite thing, a letter to let them amestrian friends know that they arrived safely at Xing and nothing more, but, as Ling soon learned, nothing was so simple when both him and Edward Elric were involved. He didn't meant to write other letters to him, didn't meant to keep torturing himself over the possibility of having Ed like that, but he did.
He kept writing the letters and answering the ones he got. He wrote letters he did not send, he thought about writing others and breathed only to receive more. Ling Yao was screwed, that much was as true and sure as the moon shining high in the sky, because his heart belonged undeniably to the golden boy he left on Amestris.
It was a good thing, then, that patience and his letters almost always paid off.
