Summary
-updates frequently!-
Damon hadn’t seen another living person in two days. Not one that wasn’t rotting, anyway.
The Interstate stretched endlessly before him, sun-bleached and cracked like the back of some ancient beast. Every mile east pulled him closer to what should be home—closer to something that might still resemble safety, family, or even a memory worth keeping. But right now, it was just him, a worn-out backpack, a blood-smeared hatchet, and the guttural groans that echoed behind every half-wrecked car he passed.
He didn’t stop for much anymore. Not for gas stations. Not for food unless he was starving. Definitely not for sounds. He had learned all of this the hard way these past few weeks.
Which is why he almost kept walking when he heard it: a shrill, human scream. Just one. Sharp and cracking at the edges like it didn’t even believe it deserved to be loud.
His feet paused anyway. Goddammit.
Damon exhaled through his teeth, gripped the hatchet tighter, and stepped off the road toward the noise.

Summary
"No, I'm not particularly offended by the term... 'white boy'," Damon responds. Eva seems to be formulating a response, irritation burgeoning, but it dies in her throat at his next words. "It's just factually inaccurate. I'm not white."
For what is not the first time, and certainly won't be the last, Eva stares at him like he's grown a third head.
"You're not white," she says, like she's had her world shattered.
Damon finds himself a class outcast even without the killing game—but at least he and his only friend in the class can bond over their shared isolation. (Un)Fortunately, however, as more and more people find out about the weekly meetings of the esteemed W.I.A., Damon comes to realize he and Eva won't be spending their time at this academy as loners, after all.

Summary
“‘Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world, and the soul of soulless conditions’,” Angel intoned. “‘It is the opium of the people’.”
Valentino perked up, craning over Angel’s shoulder to peer at the page. “Opium?”
Vox almost screamed. “NO. No opium. There is no opium. Angel, go home.”
Angel snickered, shutting the book. “Alright, big boss. See ya tomorrow, Val.” He gave Val a lingering kiss before hopping to his feet and sauntering out.
As soon as the door clicked shut, Vox whirled on Val. “I spent all day trapped in my office, filling out anger management worksheets with the princess of Hell, and you’re down here letting that whore read you Marxist bedtime stories?!”
Or: Charlie unionizes Voxtek, the fic.

Summary
A too-wide grin stretched over Saito's face like a knife as he gripped Date's hair to face himself. The evolver clicked over his pulse and the air felt still, too stiff. Date's vision swam and his stomach churned, the sedative from the psync was strong, whatever type it was. It was overwhelming, the ringing bursting his ears like fireworks, the sharp pain in his left eye socket causing headaches. He squeezed his eye shut.
The pale hand (that used to be his own) gripped tighter and Date gasped as his eye shot open against his will to meet a wide, feral one.
"Come to Atami with me."

Summary
The thing about wagers is that sometimes—only sometimes!—you lose.
And Kayne is totally fine with that. Really. Really really. That’s the name of the game, baby, and if you put maybe thirty or so odd years into winning a particular wager that would have made you a god of gods and maybe finally scratched that itch inside of you, and then lose it, well, that’s just too bad.
Good thing Kayne, as always, has a plan.
