Before he could speak, however, an elongated streak of light flung itself across the midnight sky above their heads. Rejoice picks up on it first, red eyes shimmering alongside its track, letting out an awe noise he isn’t aware of until he hears Tai react after him, a second too late, furrowing his brows as the tail fades.
“You missed it,” Rejoice says immediately, the obvious.
“No shit?” Tai snaps back, agitation already bubbling up.

Sharpness blinks. Then his expression twists into a scowl, defensive and flustered all in the same breath. Jude gives a nervous exhale back, because he knows he’s definitely fucked up beyond saving; but truth be told, he doesn’t really care that he’s fucked up this time around.

“By killing me?” Egg says weakly. Hands staining red the longer he crams his fists onto the crate, streaking brightly against the crowding snow of skin.
