Summary
Leading the Phantom Thieves felt like something fate decided for Goro Akechi. In another life, perhaps he would’ve been alone in this journey, with someone else to take up the mantle as a leader. However, he wouldn’t trade it for anything.
What he hadn’t expected for this journey, was the appearance of a child of the past persona users, a shady mechanic turned detective, and the wrath of multiple Gods cast upon him.

“So, how are you gonna help me? Or is that like top secret and we have to go to your secret lair before you can tell me the truth.” She said before gasping and turning back to Goro. “Oh my god do you have to blindfold me?”
“No, no. We are going to take you back to The Foundation's headquarters, but it doesn’t require anything as dire as that. We prefer to keep it relatively private so I just ask you not to post about such a location online.” He informed her.
For some reason she seemed sad at that information. Don’t tell she wanted something like that!
“Do we even get to take a car or something? Or are we just taking a train…” She pouted.
“I didn’t take you for such a.. high end sort of person, Takamaki.”
Her face flushed. “I’m not! I just.. thought this would be a little cooler. I mean some mysterious men show up and pay my bail and say they’re here to take care of something I’m wrapped up in? You can’t fault me for trying to get a little something out of this.”

This was a worse solution because contrary to popular belief he did in fact like Akechi. Maybe even more than he should.

Tokyo was so different.
Bright neon lights and screens lit up the city. Everywhere he turned a screen showed off some attractive model who showed off the latest clothing line. It was hard to turn away.
He took another look around, seeing all the gorgeously dressed people roaming the streets. It was nothing like home, but maybe that wasn’t a bad thing.
Maybe this was just the place where he could truly be free.

Akechi takes the cigarette out of his mouth, exhaling smoke. It burns the back of his throat, in a way that he can’t quite describe as pleasurable, but it leans enough in that direction for him to do it again. “Smoking kills, Kurusu.” He says, smiling in some strange combination of the smile he uses for TV, and the smirks he’d wear when he knows he’s alone. “You’d think the great leader of the Phantom Thieves would care about his health more.”
Kurusu barks a laugh, and something is off about it, the way it sounds bitter and contemptuous. “Yeah,” He replies, taking a drag. “You would.”
That’s… a loaded statement.
