"What if Lance, shiro and Keith were out shopping one day and there was a a natural disaster which lead to the mall they were in coming down, and lance and Keith were trapped under a large piece of metal, shiro had to pick which one he saved, unaware that lance was very much conscious while Shiro picked Keith. While the metal was pressed down further on him Shiro and Keith rushed to the hospital to get Keith checked out, unaware that lance was still alive."I took it and ran with it!

Summary
Shiro has come back from war crippled- his arm is gone, PTSD rules his life, and he barely remembers how to smile. His wife, unable to handle the state Shiro came home in, has left him with their son Keith.
Thus enters Lance, the new nanny. His job, technically, is to take care of Keith at all times. But seeing Shiro, how sad he is, how broken, prompts Lance to personally take over Shiro's life, trying hard to help him pick up the pieces of his life.

Lance couldn't be happier for Keith than when he told Lance he was picked to go on the Garrison's Kerberos mission. Only a few months later, when it was announced that the mission had failed and all members were reported dead, Lance felt as if his world had ended. He didn't want to believe that his boyfriend was gone. So when Shiro showed up in an alien spacecraft, very much alive, Lance knew the garrison lied, and his boyfriend may still be out there. And he was going to find him, if it was the last thing he did.

He lets them take out the frustrations on him. Encourages it really, because people need an outlet for their anger, and Lance has always been the best at making people angry at him.
(And if his heart twinges a little every time he has to let someone be particularly mean to him, then he just has to remember that this is what he's good at. What he's good for.)
But Lance is an older brother, and an uncle, and a younger brother. He learned sometimes keeping people means sacrificing his own feelings for a bit. He's been taught that he can't always let his feelings take a back seat though. After all, what happens if the rock falls apart?

“Uh…” Keith has no idea what the fuck is going on right now and he knows that his eyebrows are furrowed in a way that always makes Shiro laugh, but he can’t help it. What is happening.
Bakery Guy shoots a ray of pure sunlight out of his face directly into Keith’s eyes with his smile and tries again, “We don’t always sell everything pastry and bread wise, so I try to hook up the other vendors with some treats before we take everything to the women’s shelter downtown. Do you want anything?”

The Kingdom of Altea was quickly heading towards ruin. At least, it had been until the Royal Family's eldest daughter had been born as an alpha. The people had rejoiced at her birth, and there was hope yet for a new ruler and a future secured. Even the fact that the second Royal Child had been born a beta couldn't dampen their spirits.
Except Lance was not an beta. He was just an omega, trying his best to keep the charade going with a set of spells, pills, and all the tinctures he could brew because being an omega was dangerous. Being an omega made him something to be had, a rusted tool of barter worth less than scraps in return, and Altea couldn't afford to let him go.
But, if Lance’s luck would have it, Prince Keith of the Blade wouldn't mind being lied to too much.
