Summary
After the events in Ultima Thule, Brunnera decides it's time to shed the title of Warrior of Light, hang up the mantle of scholar, and move to a remote corner of La Noscea to reclaim her life.
It would have been much easier, if the ghost of a former Friend did not keep haunting her every night.
She had not wanted to leave Zenos behind and with the last ounce of her strength, she tried to crawl to him before crumbling.
If she had lived, then surely, he would have too.
She needed to go back and find out, but there were no more resources left to make the journey to the edge of the universe.
Until one night, it – or he – arrived.
The gentle swishing of leaves she could hear even in her dreams ushered in the towering, dark silhouette standing watch at the foot of her bed.
She knew deep down who it was, and she did not fear him.
As if aware of her desires, the shadow gradually got closer to her bed as the nights went on, conscious that she lacked the strength to speak.
