Eva cuts herself off, her already pale face going ashen, fingers curling into the edge of the desk. Everyone else around the desk looks at each other, and finally Olesya pipes up, “Boss? Are you okay?”
She breathes out hard, straightens up and says, “Yes. I’m fine. Now, Doctor Grace-”
“Director, that was a contraction,” Yao says sternly, and Ryland feels his stomach flip and land somewhere around his ankles, nervous nausea lurching up into his throat. “Are you in labour?”
