Jessica snorts. “More like a weirdo with a leather fetish and a martyr complex.”
“Yes,” Matt agrees, “I am catholic.”

She cut the cord.

Not that Mav has thought about it too hard - or at all, actually - but if he were to make a list of who's most likely to knock on his door in the middle of the night, Iceman would sit firmly at the bottom of it.
And yet, when he finally grows annoyed with the incessant pounding enough to get out of bed and go answer it, that’s exactly who he finds. Iceman, with unusually messed up hair and wide eyes, breathing worryingly harshly and gripping the door frame with one hand to hold himself up while the other one clutches his left side.
Mav registers the overwhelmingly awful scent just a second before his eyes put together that the dark stain on Iceman’s hoodie and the substance covering his arm up to the elbow is blood.

The plan lasts until Tiffany says something that isn't so easy to ignore. And Garrett hears it.
