He reached Genma’s side, mostly managing to ignore how the man’s eyes suddenly fixed on him with unnerving intensity and awe, and gently plucked the senbon from his mouth. Genma kept staring at him with the kind of wonder usually reserved for children seeing the tooth fairy.
"Wha’cha doin'...?" he muttered, voice soft. Kakashi's chest did something. It kind of liked doing things around this specific person.
"Maa, nothing special.” He set the senbon aside with a faint click, barely resisting from brushing Genma’s lips in the process. “I just don’t have the energy to fish a long needle out of your throat while keeping you from bleeding on reports worth more than both of us combined."
OR: Kakashi and Genma volunteer to help with some T&I paperwork cleaning. The idiots are in love. Genma gets drunk. Confessions happen and Kakashi figures out the other man has a LOT to say about his hair color. Or about him, in general.
