In the warm glow of lamplight, the jagged bite mark seemed to dance like fire, gold rippling across his skin. It took up his entire hip, and he shuddered to imagine the massive creature that must have made it. He nearly threw up in horror and wondered if he'd know if his soulmate had died.
For as long as Remus Lupin could remember, nasty and twisted marks would show up on his skin before vanishing with a sickening regularity. For the entirety of his first term at Hogwarts, not a single mark appears.

Regulus insists he doesn’t want, doesn’t hope, doesn’t love. He keeps everyone at a careful distance, denying the weight of his own feelings and the damage they leave behind. James, infuriatingly patient and stubborn in his own way, refuses to stop caring, even when loving Regulus means being shut out.

Remus cleared his throat. “Eh, phone box’s free now.”
“I’ve already taken my call,” Sirius said coldly. “And guess what I was told?”
Remus swallowed. It appeared he’d been right in the assumption that Sirius would not be a fan of whoever was to take care of his horse.

sirius black a toujours été conscient de la beauté de remus lupin. merde, il l'a su dès le premier jour où il l'a vu dans le train en première année. il n'est pas amoureux de lui, mais ça ne veut pas dire qu'il ait envie que tout le monde se mette à reluquer *son* (tout à fait platonique bien sûr) remus juste parce qu'il est devenu...(objectivement!) sexy pendant l' été. ce n'est pas de la jalousie, juste un intérêt purement amical...remus lupin s'en est sorti. cet été fait de travaux manuels et de pleines lunes sans ses amis l'a vidé de son énergie. il ne peut supporter une année de plus à courir après son meilleur ami, qui enchaîne les coups d'un soir comme les bonbons de chez honeydukes. Cette année, c'est décidé, il va enfin « étendre ses actvités », comme le lui répète lily (quoi que ça puisse vouloir dire). Et si sirius black est devenu encore plus sublime cet été, il n'a *assurément* rien remarqué...

Regulus has always known the universe to have a sick sense of humour but he didn’t know it was this cruel. He’d recognize that voice anywhere. To Regulus’s shock and abject horror, James Potter is Jay, there’s no doubt about it.
