What starts as a desperate, prideful need to prove he isn't afraid quickly spirals into a fever dream of absolute physical surrender. Braced against the freezing stone wall, Michael is claimed. Ruined, possessed, and split open by a predatory force he has no power to resist before being pushed to the ultimate test: a weightless, terrifying drop off the bridge into David's waiting arms.
But waking up the next morning brings a different kind of terror. The deep purple bruises Michael remembers on his hips are gone. His skin is smooth, unmarked, and pristine. Yet the taste of copper still coats his throat, and the morning sunlight feels like a violent, physical assault.
Left shivering in the dark, Michael is forced to confront the most terrifying question of all: Did it actually happen, or is his own mind gaslighting him into sanity?

This is inspired by the amazing Ali Louis Bourzgui who has played Orpheus and is the og David in the Lost Boys musical and TikTok edits of the idea that Orpheus is David. Please note what while i am really familiar with Hadestown and have seen it live, i haven't fully seen The Lost Boys musical (bc i'm too poor to go to New York) and so if there details i'm missing from either show i am sorry. This is just for fun really.

“What the hell did you do, Michael?”
Michael blinked at him, startled.
“Cuz I was dead.” David’s voice sharpened. “We were dead. Burned, staked, drowned. And now…” He gestured around them — the neon, the crowd, the same night replaying itself. “We’re standing here like none of it ever happened. So, tell me, what the hell did you do?”
Michael’s mouth opened, but no sound came out. His heartbeat thundered in his ears.
“I—I don’t…” he stammered, backing up a half-step. “I don’t know, David, I just.......I rode out to the hotel....I screamed until my throat bled. I told you I was sorry. I begged you to forgive me.” His fingers shook as he spoke, his eyes glassy. “And then…Everything went dark, and when I woke up.....I was in the car again. Back at the start. Like none of it happened.”
The silence that followed was heavy, drawn tight.
Paul exhaled slowly. “So… you wished us back?”
“I didn’t mean to!” Michael said quickly. “I didn’t even know I could!"

Him, Star, and David against the world might have been perfect. For a few brief weeks during a summer in the 80s, it was. If he were to give in, he wished it were with her, too.
David brushed a thumb under Michael's eye, catching the tear that began to form.
"Not that much different. Still hot-headed. Still hot." Michael couldn't help but chuckle when David waggled his eyebrows. It was a silly side that David rarely showed, but there had been moments. "Besides, I'm different too," David closed the distance, and Michael sighed into the kiss.
