Summary
"Because that's when I see you, when it's orange," he says instead, and it's the truth. "Sunsets. Sunrises, sometimes. The sky turns orange and you're there. The orange goes and you go with it. Sunrise. Sunset. Like the sun slipping through the sky and disappearing."
The smile fades from James' face, falling away just like that same sun. His eyes drift to the window briefly before he looks back at Regulus, something melancholy and impossibly sad in his gaze that Regulus doesn't want to see because James Potter isn't either of those things. He's bright and shining like the orange sun watching them now, Regulus himself cast in the cold hues of winter. They don't mesh and shouldn't exist together, but here they are.
The light catches James' eyes, and for a moment, they're orange as well.

Summary
“That is the worst idea you’ve ever had,” Remus laughs as he places a wet plate in the drying rack next to the sink.
“No, you just weren’t listening,” James frowns, leaning back in his dining chair, legs crossed under the small breakfast table in Remus and Sirius’s kitchen.
“Oh, I was listening. You plan on marrying Regulus to prank Sirius. It wasn’t hard to understand what the idea is; it’s just stupid.”or; what happens when James and Regulus get fake married as a prank and Sirius retaliates by sending them to Mexico together for two weeks.

Summary
Regulus can always count on his mother to ruin his life, but after she actually tried to take his for good and failed, he’s more surprised to see everything aligning again.
When Sirius takes him home, he reconnects with his brother’s friend group who’s been inherently part of his teenage years until he ghosted them all to keep his sanity – and heart – intact before it would be too late.
He’s back and some things never changed. Regulus still loves James. James has always been oblivious but never indifferent. And if Sirius has always known about his brother, he's learning about James. Maybe… Just maybe, he fucked up – but he won’t do it twice.
A story of second chances and healing, of first loves that are stronger than worlds and domestic bliss.

“I’m going to Alaska for five months,” Regulus explains.
“Alaska?” James clarifies. “That’s cool. What’s over there?”
“A lighthouse,” Regulus answers, and then he looks at Sirius, who is biting the inside of his cheek, clearly antsy. “Can I show you?”
Or – After almost drowning and gaining a deep fear of large bodies of water, Regulus Black wants to take back control of his life which entails taking care of a decommissioned lighthouse in Southeast Alaska for the summer—but not without the company of James Potter.
