It's subtle at first. His shorter temper, leaving his food untouched, following her around. Everybody else writes it off as him being him, but something is clearly wrong.
Then he bursts into her room, shaking and drenched in sweat. He looks desperate and terrified.
“P-Pomni, I…” He lifts a hand to curl loosely over his chest where his heart must be trying to break his ribs. His voice rattles out of him, brittle with emotion. “I’m in heat.”
Her stomach drops through the floor.

He tilts his head a little, that guardedness coming off of him in waves. “...you need a ride home?”
Pomni stands there in the cool night air. The moonlight turns from clear to gauzy as a cloud passes over it.
“Yeah,” she eventually responds. “I do.”
Pomni's boyfriend drags her to a party, gets blackout drunk, and leaves her stranded. Fortunately, his asshole roommate happens to be there too and offers to help her out.

Summary
After their big argument, Pomni and Jax struggle to be near each other. There is no anger, no hate, only the awareness that they both crossed lines and did things they would regret. So the only solution Pomni landed herself with was to indulge in something she would also regret.
Evil Jax was nothing like Jax, and she both hated and loved that about him. Besides it wouldn't be the first time she got attached to an NPC, just that this time they bonded in ways that allowed her mind to stop hyperfixating on her outburst with Jax.
But what would happen if regular Jax found out about Pomni's newest bad habit?

“Think of your digital body as… a map,” Jax breathed against her. “Somehow, this digital map is all weirdly, loosely connected to the real parts of you out there, the you in the real world.”
Her pondering stopped as she felt his hand cup her cheek, a thumb rolling shamelessly over her left blush mark. “Not gonna lie to you, Poms. I’m really excited to explore this new little map you’ve graciously placed in front of me.” He looked over her small body eagerly, his expression growing with malintent as his eyes narrowed. “Just know that when I do explore it, I’m going to relish every moment of finding all the tiny parts of you that make you tick, make you twitch, make you beg for more.”
