It’s as the photoshoot director is pouring the fifth glass of imported Pinot noir that Rei begins to consider that he may have flown too close to the sun.
His alcohol tolerance normally isn't much of an issue. Frequent trips to countries in which the legal drinking age is far lower than Japan have given Rei the opportunity to have a uniquely refined palette for someone so freshly of age, on top of making him aware of his naturally high tolerance to alcohol. Just like everything else about him, it is unrealistically exceptional.
But just because his tolerance is exceptional doesn’t mean it isn’t fallible.
rei makes exceptionally stupid decision after exceptionally stupid decision.

“You can call me Kaoru,” he says, dopey smile back on his face as Rei pulls open the doors and stands on the edge of the hallway. “Ritsu-kun’s told me a lot about you, Sakuma-san. I’m glad you came for him.”
