Summary
Kamino was a strange planet, Cody concluded as he eyed the cluster of pitch-black clouds gathering in the distance, lightning flashing like the strobe lights found on the lower levels of Coruscant where all the cantinas and nightclubs lined the streets. There was no land mass that Cody could see on the horizon no matter where he turned, the entire planet was one large, endless ocean. The only signs of life were the various sea creatures that broke the surface, and the dark circular buildings that sprouted far above the waves, enclosed bridges, and landing pads connecting the buildings.

Summary
The last thing he remembered felt strange to recall as if it hadn’t actually been the last thing he could remember. The memories felt distant and out of reach, like a film covering the surface. He had been walking home from school, something had upset him and he had almost run into Kai and his gang, opting to take a shortcut through the alley to get home. After that, there was nothing but the impression of memories ripped from his grasp, nothing to indicate how Din had gotten onto the landing pad of a storm-ridden planet, surrounded by an endless ocean. Besides the stark white, circular buildings surrounding him on other platforms like the one he was currently on, there wasn’t a speck of land to be seen.
Where the kriff am I?
Or, a young Din Djarin mysteriously shows up on Kamino at the beginning of the Clone Wars with no memory of how he got there.

Summary
Even before the war started and the regulations were severely against any form of individuality, Cody had watched as his brothers silently rebelled in their own ways, creating little spaces for themselves to feel like sentient beings for once. The clones were raised to fight a war, competence and order were drilled into their minds from the time they stepped out of their tubes. Cody had religiously clung to those regulations, needing a semblance of order amid a chaotic galaxy that they had just stepped into to fight a war on the Republic’s behalf. But at the end of the day, they were all individuals, regardless of the Kaminoian’s attempts at stamping it out or not. Cody had to face the fact that one day he would need to find his own sense of self outside of the GAR’s and Kaminoian’s restrictions.

“It’s not going to be the same as it once was,” Layla rubbed his index finger with her thumb, a soothing motion that he could focus on. “But I want it to be that way, and I know for a fact that you do too.”
She had always been good at reading him, delving deep into the thick of his mind and what he liked and disliked. Layla was smart, perceptive, and stubborn at the best of times, she had always put her all into those she loved and cared for. Sometimes, when he sat back and really thought about it, he was overwhelmed at just how much she seemed to love him and what she was willing to do and sacrifice for his happiness. It was the same way for him and his feelings for her — there was no ocean wide enough to keep them apart, no man who could come between them, and no journey that he would rather take for her.
It made Marc feel so incredibly guilty for just now realizing the gravity of how deep Layla El-Faouly’s love for him went and would continue to go.

Summary
It was instinctual, to want to be touched and cared for; to be hugged and held, caressed in gentle, loving arms. But unfortunately, Steven could attest, and maybe even Jake as well (if he wasn’t being an actual douchebag half the time), but their body had developed an extreme reaction to sudden movement and being touched out of the blue.
Or, in the aftermath of the final battle with Harrow/Ammit, Marc is still reeling from reliving the painful memories of his childhood and coming so close to losing Steven to the Duat and has a panic attack when Layla tries to suddenly hug him.
