She stopped at the edge of the black smoke, tilting her head down and squeezing her eyes shut with all the energy she could muster. All of a sudden, as if there was a giant hand forcing her mouth open, a thick, tar-like, substance spilled out of her lips. That wasn't right. Wasn't it usually green? More screams followed all at the same time, thousands begging, wailing, whispering, pleading before they all joined together in order to sing as one:
“Seek the Hub where the Hare takes flight
To Bargain with Songs in the Dead of Night
The Sun’s Heart Shall Guide Your Way
As Shadows Thin to Ghostly Gray
One Bond Breaks to Mend the Soul
And Make a Fractured Union Whole”Rachel collapsed onto the ground with a heavy thud. The campfire died out. The camp was silent once more.
Chiron made eye contact with Nico from across the dark. “Nico di Angelo, come with me.”

Nico and Will go on a quest to unite Orpheus and Eurydice while trying not to humiliate themselves with their feelings

He had tied his yellow hair back in a messy bun, though most of his hair fell freely behind his shoulders, flowing lightly in the perfect wind. He was dressed in a traditional Greek tunic and was bare feet.
Then Will blinked. “That was—That was Ancient Greek.”
Or, Will agreed to visit Jason in Elysium, but, of course, he got more than he bargained for.

Will felt like he had just been doused in ice water, but the man did not seem surprised. As he continued to play, Will noticed how the world around him seemed to lean toward the sound. Through his haywire emotions, he was able to realize one thing.
“You’re Orpheus,” he said.

Annabeth reached out to grab Jason’s arm, her stomach curling with unease. “Wait—”
A dark chuckle erupted from the man. “I get mistaken for him a lot,” his voice rumbled. “Out of everyone, though, I thought you three would be able to tell the difference.”
The man twisted towards them—just enough to meet their eyes. All of the air in her lungs instantly evaporated, leaving her gasping. Simultaneously, a knife stabbed directly into her heart, ever-so-slowly being dragged to her stomach, leaving hellfire in its wake.
Red eyes. But—

alternatively: Chiron called Annabeth back to Camp Half-Blood three years after she walked away from it all, away from the painful memories that lingered, the ones that reminded her of what she lost, who she lost. But, something has been letting monsters through the borders, and she'll soon realize she's the only one who can fix it. Or maybe she's the only one willing to try.
