It rolls strangely across her tongue and lips the first few times, just as troublesome as the woman it belongs to, but the more Poe repeats it, the more she feels a possessiveness take hold of her. She likes the way it sounds and how she can hear her own name in its vowels.
She whispers it just like that when Ranpo corners her in an alley one evening, almost a month later, just as Poe is heading back home after delivering her most recent manuscript edits.
Ranpo grins, “So you figured out who I am.”

But Ranpo was out on a mission, and Kyouka had dragged him into the agency so she could play with Karl. He didn’t mind, and if he was honest, the agency had started to grow on him. He’d come a long way from that one party.
“Atsushi did what?” Kunikida sounded exasperated, “He can’t take on any missions right now. Even if you did heal him, he isn’t well enough to go on a solo mission at the moment.”
Well, maybe Poe didn’t have to stick around.
