Summary
Daniel's linen shirt is wrinkled where it stretches tight across his chest, top three buttons left open to expose to the glistening plane of his sternum. A lock of blond hair is wet where it touches his forehead, curled from the humidity and Armand aches to push it aside. To drag his fingers through the mess of it. He could drop into Daniel’s lap and do it right now.
Armand folds his arms across his chest. He tracks the way Daniel’s thumb flicks over the switch on the lighter. Once, twice, and then it sparks to life.
“You’re the one who picks these disgusting muggy places to live, not me,” Daniel mutters, smoke crawling from between his lips. “I don’t see why you like this kind of weather so much.”
Daniel and Armand settle in Miami. Spend the evening on a hotel balcony and work out how to work someone dead into a sweat.

Daniel just wants to get through The Vampire Lestat's documentary in one piece. The Vampires Lestat, Louis and Armand aren't making it any easier for him.

Summary
Anakin Skywalker was ten years old when his parents were murdered before his eyes. Ever since, he tried to uphold their philanthropic legacy, but everyone reduced him to Theed's spoiled child. At least it was a role he could play well.
Vader has been guarding Theed from the shadows for the past seven years – thankless work, to say the least. Despite the city’s indecisiveness as to whether or not Vader’s presence is wanted, he may be the only one who can figure out who’s trying to kill the mayor and why.
No one knows that Vader is, in fact, Anakin Skywalker. No one thinks of Vader as a man at all – a man dealing with unbearable loss and unresolved anger. No one, it seems, except Detective Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Too bad Kenobi also doesn't know that Vader is Anakin, and still sees the latter as the child that just lost his parents. This really is too bad, because Anakin is (hopelessly, it seems) in love with Obi-Wan Kenobi.

“Jus’ like a sun,” Anakin murmurs, and Obi-Wan has to strain to hear it, almost misses it. He stills. “Beautiful shining sun,” Anakin continues, and presses his face further into the pool of robes. His voice is slow and sleepy, and Obi-Wan realizes he can tell Anakin is about to drop off into sleep. He blinks, lifting his head to stare down at him in something between awe and shock. That seems to be the standard operating procedure when it comes to Anakin, he thinks, a little wry, a little wondrous.
“‘ll marry you, someday, shining sun,” Anakin mumbles, his signature flaring brighter than it’s ever been for just a single, blinding moment before it fades when he falls asleep, leaving Obi-Wan feeling—feeling like that ocean has rushed back over him without notice, a gentle stream suddenly swept up into a raging river, only to just a quickly recede back out into a deceptive stillness.
