Dean floundered for a response before he ran a hand down his face. “Sammy, you’re gonna have to spell this out for me. What are you trying to say, here?”
“I’m asexual, Dean,” Sam finally said, voice tight. He hated how hard it was to admit something so simple, something that barely even impacted his brother, but as he vocalized it for the first time in his life, he felt more vulnerable than possibly ever before.
Or: Life with Jess had always been so easy, to the point that Sam had nearly forgotten about that lifelong dissonance between how people talk about attraction and his own experience. But now with Jess gone, that difference is more evident than ever, and each of Dean's attempts to "help" him get back out there are like a smack to the face. He just doesn't get it.

The war is over, and though no one expected adjustment to be easy, they also didn't anticipate just how much Etheria has been changed. As a creeping cold starts to settle over Brightmoon, Glimmer can't help the tension growing within her. She's okay now. Everyone is. They won. But for some reason, a mere gust of wind is still enough to send her running.
