Dropping the act, Seonghwa barely let him finish before asking a question Yunho never could have been prepared to answer. “Then how long have you been in love?” Pursing his lips, the older’s eerie glare only continued to build as Yunho spluttered, neck pushing back as a tangled astonishment crashed over his shoulders.
“What? I was never in love with her… Why the hell would I break up with her if I was in love?” He scoffed, hands trying and failing to rub some of the growing irritation away from his eyes. “Common Seonghwa, just say what you’re trying to get at. It's too early for the go around.”
“Fine,” he shrugged, taking a long righteous sip of coffee as Yunho groaned impatiently. No doubt in hell the bastard was enjoying himself.

Somehow, at the beginning of the semester at his new university two years ago, Seonghwa found himself wandering around rows of booths, looking for a club to join. He’d picked up a few pamphlets. Lego club, Star Wars club, gardening club. He wanted to carefully consider his options before joining just any club.
That is, of course, until he came face to face with the most handsome boy he’s ever seen. Seongwha could hardly hear him introducing the club; he was so transfixed by him. He was slightly shorter than him, with bright blue hair and a blinding smile. “Anyways! I’m Hongjoong. Have you signed up for a club yet?” He asked, holding a clipboard out to him. Seonghwa could do nothing but blink and stammer. “Oh- I, um. No, I haven’t. I-I’m sorry, what club is this?” The boy beams, and Seonghwa swears his heart skips a beat. “Track and field! Only the coolest club on campus.” He nudges Seonghwa’s side and laughs softly.

Summary

He could lie and say he didn’t know what changed it. What had turned his working hands into softer, kinder ones. What had softened him into something malleable enough to be loved. What allowed him to keep that little bird, sitting happily in his palm, deciding on its own that that was where it wanted to stay. That was where it felt safest, most loved.

Summary
