Jace throws him one last look, one full of burning fury, and snatches the door open. “Oh, trust me, I'm not having anything to do with you ever again!”

Two days later, he knocks on Simon's door. The moment it opens, he pushes his way in and crashes his mouth into Simon's, kicking the door shut with his foot.

“I want to,” Jace mutters sullenly.
Clary sighs softly. “Oh Jace, you're so bad with these things. You'll get it right eventually.”
“And if I don't?” Jace asks, swallowing thickly and staring at her with a frown.
“Well, it's a good thing that Simon hates you as much as you hate him, isn't it?”
