Summary
Hoffman’s subjects failed to exit their games with any new appreciation for their lives. Instead, they fled their would-be rebirths in fear, huddling together like frightened animals for warmth, terrified both of Jigsaw but also of their lack of epiphany.
Lawrence could only watch as those he clumsily put to the test walked out, confused and mutilated, lacking the gift that both he and Amanda had been given. It was all he could do to sit quietly at the back of a rapidly growing support group, sowing the seeds of enlightenment whenever he could, and slowly but surely convincing the survivors to rally to his cause.
But now Hoffman’s reign was at an end, and John Kramer’s legacy could, at last, be rebuilt.

He shifted in his seat, the leather sticking to his skin as he absorbed Wade's colourful description. Gun. Even a knife would do.
"Trust me, DP." Dopinder’s voice was earnest, almost pleading. "You'll see, everything will play out fine."
With a final eye roll, Wade ended the call and slipped the phone into his pocket. As he opened the passenger door and climbed back into the Odyssey, Logan caught the tail end of a begrudging sigh.
"Alright, Dopinder's playing the role of our cross-country cupid, so I guess we're doing this." Wade said, his voice cutting through the tension with its playful edge. "But if I end up thrown out of this 'soccer mom special' in the middle of the desert, I'm haunting you first."
"Haunt away, you’ll just get a fist-full of salt thrown at your face." Logan muttered, a smirk threatening to break the stern façade. "Keep your hands off the radio."

Summary
Edward, Stede thinks, examining the man laying on the bed. He looks for all the world like a fearsome outlaw, which makes the failed robbery all the more confusing to Stede, but there’s a vulnerability in his sleeping face that tugs on his heartstrings. Stede’s always been a bit of a sucker for a stray. He attributes it to being a bit of a stray himself.
Edward looks tired. Really tired, more than just the wound would justify.
Perhaps he can get some rest here. Perhaps Stede can help with that, at least.
In which notorious outlaw Edward Teach and his band of miscreants are taken in by kindly ranch owner Stede Bonnet and his misfit crew of semi-reformed criminals.

Summary
Izzy’s barely got his own name out of his mouth before a loud clatter startles him back a step. His eyes dart over to watch the tail end of Frenchie’s task abandonment, the spoon falling to the wood floors noisily as Frenchie flails across the employee pit behind the counter in a clumsy rush. He slips in a spill on the floor and pinwheels as he skids across the floor to slam into the edge of the counter, his hands slapping flat to the top with the urgency of a wartime soldier who just watched his best friend get shot.
“What do you call an alligator in a vest?” He demands.
Izzy stares at him in disbelief. “What?”

“I think,” Frenchie pauses to lick his lips as his chin presses down into the bone in Izzy’s shoulder until it gives and Izzy pulls sideways, towards him. “I think you contain multitudes and in the next two years I’m going to pull every single thing out of you that I can. You’re going to be a different man when we dock, you’ll be so in love with me that it’ll take four deckhands to peel you off of me.”
Izzy hums in amusement at the projection. He turns his head a little and looks down to watch Frenchie look up at him curiously, his head weighing heavily against Izzy’s shoulder as their eyes meet. “We’ll see about that, won’t we?”
“Guess we will.”
Or the one where The Revenge goes on a leisure trip across the ocean. Izzy feels very normal about it.
