Summary
The Queen of Philos had sacrificed her heart ultimately and along with it, part of her humanity, in the wake of Xavier’s failed Backtrack mission; binding it to Philos’ core for eternity. Now, returned to her, centuries after, Xavier seeks his Goddess’ audience, and her forgiveness, within the stone-cold chambers of her castle.
But centuries suffered alone, and with her heart now gone, she is a former frigid cast of the woman he used to love. Xavier is adamant on repenting, even if it costs him his life this time round.

There’s layers to the statement.
The man spits out more blood, lets it draw angry red lines down his neck. “I’d be honored if you did, Six Eyes,” he returns with a sly grin, each vowel melting into the next. “A god like you playing fetch with a kitten like me. I’d gladly lay down one of my nine lives.”
When asked in secret by the higher ups to investigate a strange behavioral change in the pattern of the crows in all of Tokyo, Gojo hadn’t quite been expecting this.

“Speaking of which, you scraped the frostings like this when we had them—”
Her voice hitches as he skims the painting knife on the slope of her ribs.
“Really?” Rafayel puts the knife in the bowl full of melted ice before repositioning himself between her legs, caging her between his arms. “Was it when we tried that new bakery near your office?”
“Yes.” Her eyes snap shut when he leans in and nibbles at the dip of her collarbone, replacing the sticky layer of sugar with his wet and warm breaths.
“And then?”
“You said they were too sweet,” she says, voice tapering into a whisper. “And you prefer glaze over frostings.”
“I do.” He licks his way down and one of his hands follows suit to caress the tender flesh and the soft peaks that make her quiver against his tongue and fingertips.
“You didn’t finish the cakes.”
“Were you upset?” His wet kisses steadily move down to the dip of her belly, pink blossoms in its wake. The aftertaste of cream is bland compared to her whimpers, propelling his desire to the point where it is almost painful.
“A little.”
“Just a little?” His touch rests on her hips, fitting as a mold. “Should I stop then?”
