He could barely remember how it all happened. He knew he was supposed to be hitting a rut sometime soon, but he hadn’t expected it to hit so abruptly. It must’ve been something about being around the Straw-hat pirates, specifically Monkey D. Luffy, since they always seemed to set him off in different ways.
It should’ve been obvious, really, but it wasn’t until his instincts had finally tipped over the edge and took hold of him that he had realized too late.

“Oh! Trafalgar,” Nami starts, grabbing Law’s attention with a nod of her head, “the boys were all talking about a little get together tonight after the beach quiets down and the lifeguards are off duty, you should come join!” Nami offers a pleasant grin on her features.
“Oh, yeah! Torao should definitely come! There’ll be lots of food and stuff.” Luffy continues, nodding fervently as he shifts his stance, leaning over the shelf he’d been against previously.
“I appreciate the offer but-“ Law starts, but Luffy ignores the beginning of the doctor’s sentence in favor of his own.
“Great! We’ll see you there tonight then!” Luffy grins, walking towards the door with Zoro, barely pausing to clap a strong hand up on Law’s shoulder as he passed the taller man. The strong grip nearly had Law short-circuiting, but he managed to maintain his composure with only the slightest blush on his features.

a.k.a my excuse to write a newly hired Law gets invited to a beach party thrown by the local, rowdy lifeguards where he eventually gets railed within an inch of his life in the command center <3
