The man kneeling above him was frowning, brows furrowed, eyes uncannily bright. The way he stared at Charles sent chills up his spine.
Charles shivered. “So you are here,” he whispered. The noise in his mind had resumed, but this time it was a single wordless voice, which could belong to no other person but the stranger before him. Darkness, though muted, still lurked at the edges, and Charles carefully turned away from it.
“I am,” the man said with a nod. “My name is Erik Lehnsherr.”
“I know,” Charles replied, and to his amazement, it was not untrue. “I read your mind.”

Summary
This is a story of boy meets boy. The boy, Erik Lehnsherr, believes that his marching band is the shite. The other boy, Charles Xavier, shares this belief, but without the three-letter article.
Erik meets Charles in November. He knows almost immediately he is an utter bastard who deserves a fist to the face. And, maybe, also who he has (not) been searching for.

“I – I don't see how this is related to the topic at hand,” Charles says, hating how uncertain his voice sounds.
“Oh,” Erik whispers, his breath warm against Charles' lips. “It's related all right.”

The door slides open by itself, the light of the inside trails out of it, golden, the warmth of the house and the faint smell of steamed buns follow, invitingly. A-Yuan stands up and follows the stones towards the door, turning briefly to wave goodbye at him.
“A-Yuan!” A voice calls from the inside, and Lan Wangji’s chest hurts. “My little radish, how you have grown!”
The boy smiles, and walks in the house with a smile so bright it’s blinding, and then the door closes.
Wangji is left behind, in the cold.(Once a week, Hanguang-Jun stands outside a secluded house in the Cloud Recesses, holding his son's hand, waiting for the door to open and wondering whether he will ever be allowed in.)
