    Severus Snape, faced with his own demise and with a profound sense of guilt, travels back in time to the night before Harry Potter’s parents were killed by Lord Voldermort.

    Having weighed up his options, based on relationships and people he could trust in 1981, he rules out the possibility of approaching James Potter and Lily Evans himself, and instead seeks out the assistance of Narcissa Malfoy, herself a young mother at the time.

    This story will span two decades, but the first dozen or so chapters will deal with setting the scene in 1981, after Snape visits Narcissa and effectively changes the future for all of the main characters.

    The characters do not belong to me, they belong to JK Rowling. I hope I do them justice.

    I write for fun and with the hope of bringing pleasure to a few readers.

    Rated Mature for alcohol use, smoking, language and mentions of violence and sex (nothing explicit though.)

    Draco raised an eyebrow. “That’s not what I asked.” When Tom smirked at him, Draco laughed and led them out to the porch. “It’s a bit of a run to the car,” Draco explained, “so you’ll apparate, if you have to escape, you hear? If it’s between werewolf food and the Trace - I want you alive, and I’ll fight the Wizengamot for it.”
    Tom swallowed hard and followed Draco around the property line, where the trees grew like stakes. “I thought you said the werewolves will leave us alone.”
    “Accidents happen,” Draco said plainly.

    Fourth Year Tom Riddle thinks little of their new Care of Magical Creatures professor, Draco Malfoy Astier, until the man opens his doors for the holidays.
