Summary
Christine Daaé was a lonely, angry young woman dealing with grief and disappointment. But one day in the Palais Garnier dressing rooms she heard a voice sing to her that helped with everything. This follows the story roughly as Leroux gave it to us, but with one key difference; what if our Phantom was a woman?
This is a Leroux-mostly-based retelling, everyone else's genders are staying the same, just Erik is now Esme, and we'll see how that changes things in this universe. This is an experiment.

Frankie wakes up feeling sick after performing for a bar outside of her hometown. Not unusual for her feeble immune system, but the sudden wound on her neck is certainly a break in the pattern, especially when it looks like something may have bit her. Stuck out in the middle of a town that sinks under her skin like a parasite and with nowhere left to go, Frankie is forced to visit the local clinic.

Summary
It’s Frank’s last day off before the North American leg of the World Contamination Tour begins, so he’s not particularly happy when his nap is interrupted by a frantic phone call from Gerard. Gee’s clearly upset about something, but the urgent instructions he gives Frank as he rushes back to their hotel room are not making much sense. And why does Gerard keep asking Frank if he’s alone?
Frank’s confusion only grows from there. The next thing he knows, Gerard is right there, kissing him - which should be impossible, considering Gee’s still on his way, and talking to Frank on the phone. It is Gerard kissing Frank, though. A blond Gerard. Gerard, circa 2006.
And if that wasn’t enough to give Frank the mother of all headaches, it appears that there are actually not only one, not even two, but three Gerards come from various dark times in Gee’s past, congregating in the hotel room, looking for hints of a brighter future.
This is the tale of Frank and the four Gerards, and of the afternoon that set everything in motion.

Sometimes, for no particular reason, Gerard catches a look in Frankie’s eye. It’s not darkness nor light, but a tantalizing in-between that Gerard can never anticipate what it will cause. All he knows is that on these occasions, when she’s watching him from across the room in casual quiet nights or thrumming evenings surrounded by people, he can almost guarantee she’s planning something unknown to him. (Or, Frankie likes to have her way with Gerard on occasion).
