"This is getting ridiculous!" she hissed through clenched teeth, her breath smelling faintly of this morning's cinnamon pastries. "You're about as subtle as a rampaging owlbear. You need to either confess your undying love to him or do us all a favor and drown yourself in the bath. I recommend the lavender oils—they'll mask the stench of your pathetic pining."
"Oh, I do apologize!" Vax whisper-shouted, flinging his hands skyward. "I'm terribly sorry that my inconvenient passion for my straight best friend and my desperate desire to ride his magnificent endowment like a champion jockey at the Tal'Dorei Derby is somehow disrupting your day!" His voice cracked on the final word.
Vax is in love with Percy. And honestly the pining is getting pathetic.

Vax is a liar. Percy loves him anyway.

Vax’s mouth opened and shut, fishlike. “What. Is. Happening,” he managed, voice strangled and much too smooth. The word “happening” came out with a clipped precision that could slice bread. Vax blinked, experimentally, as if trying on a new pair of eyes.
"Why can't I see!?" whimpered Vax, his hands flailing in the air like a drowning man grasping for a lifeline. He felt a gentle hand on the small of his back and the delicate pressure of wire frames being slipped over his ears. The world snapped into focus with such sudden clarity that he nearly staggered backward. There, standing before him with an expression of scientific fascination, was his own face—complete with the smirk he usually reserved for particularly successful heists. "What the actual fuck?" he whispered, voice dropping to a horrified hush.
