She could walk to a local mechanic and see if she could buy one or have her vehicle towed- but that would take hours and she'd need to be driving into Indiana by nine to make it to graduation. Not coming up with any better ideas, though, she made her way to a pay phone to call a tow- which was just about down the road, her one mercy.
