Summary
Robby had a secret that he would never tell another soul.
He knew it was wrong. He knew it meant that he was an awful, horrible person for even thinking about it. It was a dark fantasy that he buried in the farthest corner of his mind, where he could pretend it didn’t exist.
OR
Robby freaks out about his ethically dubious fantasies involving forcing himself onto Dennis, unaware that Dennis is having the same mental spiral.

Summary
It’s the spring of ‘97 when Michael Robinavitch is dragged into a gay bar for the very first time.
When he meets Jack Abbot there, the two of them are on the cusp of radically different futures: Robby is about to begin his residency, and Jack is leaving for the army. They know better than to get attached - know the timing is wrong, the goodbye inevitable - but something tender takes root anyway. Through every deployment, Jack thinks of Robby more than he ought to; through every failed relationship, Robby wonders about what might've been.
Years later, when their paths cross again at PTMC, the past resurfaces — and though they’re older, more jaded, and scarred in different ways, they find themselves pulled towards everything they left unfinished.

Summary
He has tendencies, is the thing. He knows he does.
The bottomless pit opens up in his belly, and all the ways he could take care of Whitaker flash before his eyes. He could be the one they call. He could be the one who looks out for the kid. He'd look out for him so well, no-one would ever dare fuck with him. He'd want for nothing. Robby could keep him so satisfied.

Summary
'There's a notification clogging up his screen.
Dennis Whitaker (R1): Hey, just wanted to check in with you after yesterday. It was intense. And also, that thing you were asking about? I feel like Trin kinda got in your head about it. Amy's really just a friend. She needs help on the farm, with a baby, and I'm pretty good at farmwork. That's all.
It's entirely too much justification for your boss.'
Robby finally makes it to his sabbatical.
Whitaker finds himself a little adrift without his boss around.
Jack is just trying to make sure the both of them are happy.

have to bookmark before i’m even done with the fic bc this is the MOST realistic hucklerabbot i’ve ever read where the actually work thru their shit and the love they have for each other just makes so much sense and it’s so harrowing because robby is NOT passively suicidal that shit is active and on the brain and it’s just so lovely and i love jack and dennis’ relationship im not usually a huckleabbot truther but this made me believe they absolutely would be so fucking annoying sniping at each other all the time good fucking soup damn
