It had been a while since his last rut. Ever since his disbarment and therefore the adoption of Trucy, he had to change his alphagen healthcare plan. He didn’t have the money to get his quarter-yearly rut suppressor shots. Taking daily pills wouldn’t be an option either, as Phoenix was too much of a scatterbrain to remember when to take his hormones.
Now, his nose was itchy, and his senses were heightened. And what was that smell? Tea leaves with a hint of lemon?
No way! Phoenix couldn’t deal with that man on top of everything else that happened. Not when he was experiencing pre-rut. Not since he purposefully ignored the other man for half a year, when he had lost his badge.
