Summary
Everyone wanted to be a Grisha, the blessed elite, the chosen ones. If you were found to be Grisha, your family instantaneously jumped into a life of luxury and prestige. In exchange, new Grisha spent years training amongst others like them, and spent many more serving their country. Every parent wished their child would be one of the lucky ones, and every child wished to have powers like the Grisha they saw in the media. Or, well, almost every parent and child.
For decades, John has managed to carefully conceal the fact he's Grisha, but that might not remain the case for much longer. He lightly scratched the area with his left pointer finger before moving the hand up to tap his temple with the same finger and lifted his right brow for a brief moment. He was way too done and tired to really think up a plan himself. ‘Lex?’ he inquired, swiping across his lips with his right thumb from right to left, then raising his right eyebrow once again.
Lex tapped his temple twice with his right pointer and middle finger before clenching his left hand slightly into a fist before quickly releasing it and splaying all five fingers like he was reenacting an explosion. ‘Bruce, distraction.’

Summary
Being cursed by magic and being cursed are two separate situations. A curse by magic must be cast by a sorcerer and will end once the caster has died, a curse however, is capable of being cast by anyone, whether they be a magic user or not.
A curse can only be cast by a person on their deathbed, where their lingering strong emotions latch onto their intended target and transforms into a curse, though no one entirely knows why or how this happens. Whoever the target is however, will never be able to escape their curse until their deaths.
A golden prince who abhors magic, cursed with the touch of death. A peasant-born warlock attempting to hide his magic in the center of Camelot, cursed with immortality. Two sides of the same coin indeed.

“Can I show you something?” Ilya asks, finally breaking the stifled silence.
“Yeah. Of course.”
“I will be right back.”
Shane appreciates the warning, calming his anxiety as Ilya extracts himself from Shane and gets up from the bed. He saunters over to the closet like a man on a mission. Even in his distress, Shane hates to watch Ilya leave, but loves to watch him go. He disappears a moment later before coming back with a medium-sized cardboard moving box with “fragile” written in Ilya’s chicken scratch.
“I thought you hadn’t started packing yet.”
Ilya smiles, carefully setting the box in the middle of the bed near Shane before climbing back up. “I started putting some of the important stuff away a few nights ago.”

Shane is frustrated when he shows up at Ilya's house to find out he hasn't packed a single box. An interruption from Cliff Marlow sends him spiraling further, until Ilya shows him just how in love with Shane he is.

Ilya bites the inside of his cheek to keep from laughing. He wants to, god does he want to, but he knows better than that. The last thing he wants is for Shane to feel truly embarrassed or, God forbid, ashamed at what Ilya’s stumbled upon.
“It’s just hockey cards, Shane. No big deal.” It’s a battle to keep his face neutral, to stop his playful, lazy grin from taking over his face, but he thinks he’s doing a good job of it.
Shane bites his lip and nervously shifts from foot to foot. “Did you look inside?”
“I may have peeked,” Ilya admits. “There are a lot of Pike cards. I did not know he was your favorite. I am concerned about your taste.”

Summary
Shane and Ilya had mutually agreed to keep their whatever-they’re-doing out of Sochi. It was an easy decision to make: this was bigger than any MLH rivalry and definitely bigger than a few hotel hook-ups. There was no room for distractions, not with Olympic gold on the line.
So it’d be really fucking great if their daemons could get on the same page and stop trying to cause an international fucking incident.
