杰克·穆勒像幽灵一样站在黑暗的客厅里，手里拿着一把手枪，枪口顶住里昂的脑门，警告未经允许的侵入者。里昂抬头看了他一眼，抬起空空如也的双手，示意自己没有敌意。
“也许我们能友好一点？”
他冲杰克笑了笑，紧接着，像是终于突破了身体忍耐的极限，他顾不上额前警告意味十足的枪口，像倒栽葱似的一头栽进屋里，身体撞在木地板上，发出咚的一声巨响。——

After the third declined call, he had given up on Claire. Chris scrolled through the rest of his contacts and wracked his brains for who, besides Claire, could possibly be both responsible and trustworthy enough to handle caring for an infant who may or may not be bio-weapon. The list of names was short. A select few who remained after everything. The ones who had seen it all. He had called all but one. Claire was unavailable, Jill on a mission, and Sherry unreachable (probably also due to responsibilities), one name was left … Leon. It wasn’t so much that Chris didn’t want to call Leon, it would just be easier if he didn’t have to. With a sigh he pressed the call button, the desperation of the moment overriding his avoidance.

However, to worry is to be human, and even though Chris should've grown used to the shadows of death haunting those around him, himself included, the thought of losing a loved one remains a thorn in his heart, one that he always fails to pluck away.
