Looking back, he realizes that though he never gave up on trying to open his gate of energy, somewhere along the way, he began to lose hope. There was a small but steadily growing part of him urging him to accept that it just wasn't meant to be. That he was destined to live an ordinary life. But here he is now, having managed to grab hold of the power he so desperately wanted.
He not only got what he wanted, he got more.
He got Yeong.
It all felt too good to be true. Was he really allowed to be this happy? Surely not.
