‘You don’t know how to play with a partner, do you?’
Blinking down at her from under the sweaty mess of candy floss hair sticking up at every angle where his cap came off, Gojō opens his mouth to argue. Utahime silences him with a tennis racket to the face.
‘From now on, we do this my way,’ she says, looking between his blue, blue eyes. ‘From now on, you listen to me.’
It’s hard to tell—he’s already red in the face from exertion—but Utahime thinks his cheeks darken. Grinning, he squeezes her fingers, briefly intertwining them with his in the moment before he lets them go. Sweeping his damp hair off his face, he swoops down to retrieve his fallen cap and sticks it on his head. Backwards, this time.
Utahime is pretty sure it’ll void his sponsorship agreement, but he doesn’t seem to care. Looking every bit the glorified jock he is, he plants his hands on his hips, leaning down to meet her gaze with a secret smile playing on his lips.
‘Yes, ma’am.’
When it turns out the world No. 1 is terrible at teamwork, Utahime realises he’s going to need some training if she wants to take home the title.
