Growing up in Sharlayan had its own challenges (of being perfect, being exactly what his parents wanted, being what EVERYONE expected of him,) but sometimes everything just felt so... suffocating. His whole existence felt like it was in limbo and he couldn't get out of it, trapped before even leaving the starting line. But Alisaie extending the olive branch accidentally when confessing to him a quiet secret from their parents makes Alphinaud go down a rabbit hole and learn that life didn't have to be that way.
Or; Alisaie coming out to Alphinaud makes Alphinaud self-reflect enough to accept his own identity.
